Sales Analysis report times out

When running either the Standard SSRS or our custom report, it times out. System Monitor shows “operation timed out”. We’ve not made any changes to either report. We’ve tried filtering customers and dates to pull the least amount of data possible, but it still times out.

Has anyone ran into this?

If you haven’t already, I would try recreating the BAQ Query and BAQ Report to see if that fixes your problem. Have you also tried running the query in the Business Activity Query with some extra criteria to make sure it runs smoothly in there? Maybe the problem lies with the query and not on the report side.

It’s not a BAQ report. It runs from Epicor’s canned .dll.

Are the tables being created in sql server? Is there another process running? We had this happen a few times, we restarted the reporting service and all started working again. Granted that was when no report was working.

Not sure how you tell which tables it’s creating. Doesn’t appear to be another process running. This is the only report with issues. I’m not sure if restarting the reporting service would help in our case…

When you run a report, temp tables are created in your report database. Do you see those table being created?

After installing an Epicor fix program for something unrelated and rebooting our database and application servers, Sales Analysis seems to be working again. My guess is something in the fix files as we rebooted our servers last week and that didn’t solve our issues…
