Fathom is great. Saves me headaches daily. I just had a user run a report for every job in the system ( 3x ) and then when it took too long just killed Epicor and left it using all memory in the server.
I saw the memory and cpu buildup, checked the user and process, so I didn’t accidently kill an accounting user doing a Capture and then killed off his processes.

We see the hung report in system monitor and have cancelled it. We’re not sure what caused the report to be hung up with those error messages in the log. We do not use fathom.

Do you use fathom to monitor your appservers? http://localhost:9090/fathom.htm
If I have a long running process I will see it in the server pool control list. The last change column should always be current when you click refresh at the bottom of the page.
Or in system monitor, check actions .. display all tasks and see if the report is listed there.

LTFViewer is able to view the log file but it’s been over an hour and has been loading 8 million lines so far. It seems like a rogue BAQ report is generating a lot of the “xabaqrptxml.p …. X-NODEREF or X-DOCUMENT CREATE-NODE got an error:” messages.

I use LTFViewer to read my log files. It will open large files and you can refresh to see the last lines in the logs.
Maybe you can see what is being logged and stop just that process.

There are financial processes that are currently being run such as posting and inventory WIP reports that causes issues if we restart the task agent. We restart the appservers once a month.

You can stop the task server w/o having any users aware. I use the file threshold size and number of log files to keep the logs under 40MB each.
How often do you restart the appservers?

Our task agent server log is currently at 2GB and we are experiencing performance issues. We are not able to rename or create a new log and the log file won’t allow us to open it due to its size. An yone know what can be done with a 2GB log that is locked due to being in use without having to shut down and restart the task agent?
