For automated processes = SC

What is the better tool Service Connect or the DMT tool just trying to get some information on the DMT tool as we have service connect but no one knows how to use it.

They are different tools that have some overlap.

DMT allows you to put data into Epicor from CSV Files, Excel Files etc on demand (some scripting capability)
Service-connect is a full integration platform to push / pull data in / out of Epicor you can connect to web services, monitor folders for dropped files, EDI etc.


They are both great tools and both great to have

It depends on what you need.

Service connect automatically detects a file and uploads it to the database.

To upload via DMT, you need to open DMT, select the file you want and then click upload.

If you need the application to automatically upload files, then you need Service Connect. Otherwise DMT should do the job.

I use SC to automate a process.

For example, I want to drop a file into a folder and create an Order from it.

 

I use DMT to mass update tables.  Part, Order, PO, Jobs, ABOM,

For example, I want to update all Approved MOMs, with PN 2211C and adjust the scrap factor
