What are you planning to do with it?
Service connect is basically a workflow tool that allows you to stitch together business logic in a series of I/O to create custom solutions.
Pros: useful for processing repetitive data entry routines, importing/exporting data, integrating data with other products
Cons: steep learning curve/fairly complex, little documentation, cumbersome task monitor and error processing, not very user-friendly, the educational resources are really light (you will have to dig in and make it happen, or hire someone)
I know a number of people who purchased it and never use it. Mostly because of the items I listed in the Cons.
However, if you can get through the complexity of it, and understand the business logic / method implementation AND XML piece of it, it can be quite useful and powerful. It has been a useful tool for me.
A final note: there are often other ways to accomplish the same thing instead of using Service Connect. You can use the DMT solution for data updates, or advanced BPM's, customizations, etc.
