Has epicor done anything with this field yet?
Has anyone used this for a customization?
Im trying to find a way to get MRP to look at the shelf life before suggesting ordering too much inventory based on how soon something expires.
I have used it for LOT CONTROLLED items to determine the expiration date… I think with a BPM. I don’t believe that there is anything that could/should be done if the part is not lot controlled.
Also, the maximum value allowed in this field is 999 days, and although that sounds like a lot, some products have shelf lives in years that far exceed 999 days.
That’s crazy, that wouldn’t be even 3 years… Many canned food products are good for longer than that.
