If you loaded everything per the instructions, but haven't done any DB
tweaking, then Progress is running [crawling?] with almost zero memory
caching. This document at EraNet has really good tuning instructions:

Or as a quick fix, edit epic50\progress\startup.pf and add a -B
parameter. -B 10000 will give you about 40MB cache; enough for it to get
out of its own way, at least.

We have just put an install of Vantage 5 on a test server. I converted a
backup of our 4.0 database and we have been looking over the new version.
One problem that we have run into is that when I select the Job tab in the
Lot Tracker, both my system and the server slow to a crawl for about five
minutes before any information appears in the window. This happens every
time I try it.

I have since installed the latest Progress and Vantage patches, but it
didn't help. Has anyone had this happen to them? Any ideas would be
appreciated.
