Spam (O/T spam blocking)

Another one that works the same way is Message Labs. Your local server only
talks to their farm and they filter before it gets to you. Users are sent an
email at a user-defined time specification showing name/email
address/subject line to watch for false positives. A user clicks a link that
takes her to a web site to release the message and to petition the local
administrator to add the user/domain to a white list. It works quite well
but they only sell in blocks of 25.

I have recently been playing around with Microsoft's Intelligent Message
Filtering (IMF) for Exchange 2003. In my research I discover
http://www.netriplex.com/solutions/spam-blocker/ an external spam
blocking / anti-virus scanning service. Is anyone using this, or
something similar?

Our ISP uses Barracuda and most others provide some similar service.

Dan,

We have been using MailMarshal from NetIQ for 3 to 4 years. First we
used the MailMarshal for SMTP product and now we are using the
MailMarshal for Exchange product. We are currently on Exchange 2003.

MailMarshal can also enforce corporate Email Acceptable Use Policies.

For more info take a look at

Check out AppRiver.com It is the best solution I have found thus far. I have used Barracuda devices, IMF etc and this is bar far the simplest and most cost effective solution I have ever found. It blocks spam and viruses.

Email me if you want some more information or contact names.

I also use AppRiver. And I agree that it is by far the best solution
I have found. I have used software filters (ie Symantec, Trend).
AppRiver is nice because once it is set up (takes all of a DNS
change) you are done and it is cheap. It is blocking our spam and
viruses which is almost 95% of incoming mail from my email server.
This frees up your Internet bandwidth and email server resources to
do other things than dealing with Spam. You can contact
will.whiting@... (reseller) to get more info.

my 2 cents
