Found it, My new dell server had a NIC on the motherboard plus a 10/100/1000
card I added. I yanked out the new card just to simplify things and email
started working perfectly. Thanks to all who replied on/off line.

chosen and not Microsoft Mail????

Norton now has been removed (hacked) from my clients and server.
Email sits in the "OutBox" until I click "Send/Receive" then click on
another folder such as "Sent Items". Then is gets sent. Mail doesn't come in
until you click on a main folder such as "Calendar, Contacts, Inbox, etc...)
I kinda wakes up Outlook then mail comes in.
Summary I replaced the Exchange server with a new Dell. Removed Norton from
the server and clients.
Exchange 5.5, NT4 SP6, Outlook2000
Anyone want to throw their hat in the ring on this one. Help!!!

Norton has not been installed on the server yet, the clients are probably
trying to sync up and having a cow, found this by trying to uninstall the
Norton client, the uninstallation program asked for the administrator
passwd, but the server side was not installed yet.

New exchange server, old software, nt4 sp4, exchange 5.5, internal email is
hanging in the Outlook sent boxes. Followed MS documents on a fresh
install, using the old server name on a new box, coping over the exchange
databases, then starting the services.
