The Epicor Ideas Fin-Efficacy Quest!

Announcing the Epicor Ideas Fin-Efficacy Quest!

Hey everyone,

I’ve been thinking about how we can increase visibility for some of the fundamental financial ideas we post on the Epicor Ideas portal. We all have those ideas that we know would make a massive difference to our businesses, but they often get lost in the shuffle.

So, I’m proposing a new, community-led initiative right here on this Epiusers.help thread: The Epicor Ideas Fin-Efficacy Quest!

This quest is a call to action for all of us with great ideas for improving financial processes in Epicor. Our goal is simple: to create a space where we can help champion the most critical financial ideas.

How the Quest Works

This thread is our Quest Board. Let’s make it a central hub for all things related to financial improvements in Epicor.

  1. Watch or Track This Thread: I highly recommend setting this thread to “Watched” or “Tracking” so you’ll get a notification when new quests are posted.
  2. Submit Your Quest: When you create an idea on the Epicor Ideas portal that you believe has a significant financial impact, come back here and post a link to it. Tell us a bit about the business problem and why you think it’s so important. This is your chance to get the community’s support!
  3. The Mission: Your part of the quest is to follow those links, review the ideas, add your own insights, and cast your vote on the Ideas portal. The more votes and comments an idea gets, the more visible it becomes to the Epicor product teams.

This is our chance to collectively shine a light on the financial enhancements that matter most to our businesses and deserve more visibility. Let’s make our voices heard and get these critical ideas in front of the right people.

Fin-Efficacy Quest Kickoff

I’ve given this thread 24 hours to see if anyone jump in, but since it’s still quiet—I’m taking the initiative! Here’s your first Fin-Efficacy Quest:

Correct Batch Job Cost Allocation: Honor User-Defined Zero Material Cost Factor (MCF) for GAAP and COGS Compliance

Epicor currently overrides a user-defined Material Cost Factor (MCF) of zero in batch jobs, forcing a minimum value of one—even when a co-part should have no material cost. This leads to inaccurate cost allocation, double-counting, and financial reporting errors, directly impacting GAAP and COGS compliance. We need Epicor to honor a zero MCF so that kit parts, placeholders, consumables, and rework scenarios are costed correctly, ensuring financial integrity and accurate reporting.

Browser UX 0-day Exploit

There is a critical browser UX vulnerability that needs urgent attention. This issue poses a security risk to users and should be prioritized for a fix to protect data and maintain trust in the platform.

Add Validation Before Allowing Deletion of Global Records

Currently, Kinetic allows deletion of global records (like parts) without checking for pending updates in multi-company queues. This can cause data integrity issues when records are deleted before all updates are processed across companies. Adding a validation step before deletion would prevent these sync errors and ensure reliable multi-company operations.
