Unable to connect to the AppServer (Epicor 9.05)

Check the location of the .cfg file in your shortcut.

Edit the .cfg file and make sure it is pointing to the correct server/instance of Epicor.

Chances are it’s your firewall on the server causing the problem, turn off the firewall completely on the server.

Subject: [Vantage] Unable to connect to the AppServer (Epicor 9.05)

I am working on setting up a test E9 server, to begin our process of upgrading to Epicor 9.05 (from Vantage 8.03). I went through the installation guide and data upgrade guide. Everything seemed to go smoothly, but now I am having problems logging in on a client machine. I can log into Epicor fine directly on the server, but if I install the client package on a separate workstation and try to log in, I get the following message:

Unable to connect to the AppServer.
Could not connect to the AppServer: General Error: A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond (7203)

Any ideas what could be causing this?
