interesting to hear aosemwengie1, we still use most of the old screens and we have really only developed a few screens in Kinetic as its been so problematic, so we don’t have so many Kinetic layers - but good shout!
hard to know how some of this gets to general release
If you are doing a brand new install and you expect classic screens, don’t. A conversion could get ran if the install detects that it is a new install.Conversion 1550 (Erp.Internal.Conversion.KineticMenuMigration Remove classic UI option on new Kinetic UIs). You should be able to uncheck this if it gets checked.
You no longer have more than on options for Classic\Modern Shell\Kinetic. It is just Kinetic (with the actual forms potentially being Classic if you wish).
SSRS reports do not import in the admin console when deploying the app server. This is done as a report is first executed.
There is a new ICECommon read only database that gets created.
Somehow this makes me feel better about some of the stuff I develop. If even software companies have some bumps in the road … then perhaps it is quite reasonable when we lil people do in our development
The install guide is outdated and still has the import reports part of the SSRS install. Support told me that it needs updated.
To answer you question, I’m not sure. I don’t know if it makes a difference or not. I’ve deployed several applications so far with that checked and it doesn’t seem to cause an issue. I’d assume you at least need that for configuring the SSRS environment for the first time.
hi Anthony,
thanks for heads up - we are still a 90% classic house - so we would have to setup each menu to be in classic going forward?
bpms generally are basic enough, a few have some complexity where service connect gets involved, but they all converted ok from e10 to kinetic last year, so they should be ok again? or am i being optimistic?
I have no clue, I tried it and hosed my whole SSRS service so now I’m stuck and have to reach out to someone technical who can tell me what exactly the update is going to do to the reporting services before I can move forward confidently.
