Upgrade to 9.05.700C issue

Prior to upgrade, copy your existing BPMExec folder to your test server's same location.

Although, I recommend that everyone do that step automatically as part of an upgrade in the first place.

That was it. I had to recompile everything even though they didn't show outdated. I had no vision they were not updated correctly. Any way to see that in the future without testing to see if we get error messages?

Thanks to all for your help!

Try re-compiling all your BPMs: System Management -> BPM -> Operations -> Directive Update -> Directive Recompile Setup -> “both outdated and up-to-date directives” -> Start.

I called epicor this morning and it looks like there is something wrong with server\bpmexec\bo files. I did verbose logging for them and that seems to be a common theme. They are looking at the logs now. But I will mention the customization scripting in the mfgsys folder you mentioned before because mine do say 905.607.1 still.

Big picture all of my customizations seem to launch fine at the moment. I had a couple personalizations I needed to revalidate but nothing big.

Epicor.Mfg.BO.Labor.dll is in my patch directory with 9.5.700.2 version and the original releaseclient.zip with 9.5.700.14.

Can you do MES from the server? if you can and the releaseclient has all of the files from the server, then you can force an upgrade by changing the version on either the client or server default.mfgsys.

I would do on client first to get an new set of files on that client. Once MES is good on one client, then change on the server side to force for all stations. This is a tip from John Driggers that I used a lot to get my 700C working.

Good Luck.

i feel your pain 607 to 700 gave me the same trouble. I eventually gave up and went to every machine and did a reinstall (after ensuring the //app/Epicor905/Client/config files were exactly the same as the ones in my clientrelease.zip file) You will likely also have to pull the files out of the /custom/patch folders in the server folder and add them to the clientrelease.zip. We had an issue with that the patch files were never included in the client release at 700.

You didn't miss anything, there was an error with the patch.

3 solutions,

1- copy the epicor905\client folder to replace the client folder on the
workstation.
2- zip the contents of the client folder, not the client folder itself,
only the contents and replace the releaseclient.zip in the epicor905
folder/share.
3- goto 701 which was just released

There is an issue with the update and releaseclient.zip not getting updated. I made releaseclient.zip from client folder on server and deployed that.

Verify that the default.mfgsys file has the line below. support had me add the .3

<customizations>
<customization name="Patch" directoryName="Patch" version="9.05.700.3" deploymentType="XCOPY" />
</customizations>

You can use the clientzipinstaller program in the clientzipinstall directory to be sure your mfgsys files are in the zip file.

You can always just force copy the client folder to the workstations.

Good Luck.

Greg

I called epicor this morning and it looks like there is something wrong with server\bpmexec\bo files. I did verbose logging for them and that seems to be a common theme. They are looking at the logs now. But I will mention the customization scripting in the mfgsys folder you mentioned before because mine do say 905.607.1 still.
Â
Big picture all of my customizations seem to launch fine at the moment. I had a couple personalizations I needed to revalidate but nothing big.

i feel your pain 607 to 700 gave me the same trouble.

You likely just need to re-compile all your bpms and customizations.

That was it. I had to recompile everything even though they didn't show outdated. I had no vision they were not updated correctly. Any way to see that in the future without testing to see if we get error messages?
