I am exploring using Purchasing Contracts as a mean of handling management of a Kanban purchased part that has a long lead time.
Basically we would be looking at the amount on hand and what is currently in the pipeline to determine if another release should be created.
Using the contract vs the standard PO would enable utilizing the change in demand to potentially change the delivery of some kanbans.
After I get this running, I would be happy to share the success with the group.
