I believe so, but I would test it in my test environment first just to be
sure.

So when the 5 pcs are marked as NC, they aren't placed into the
"Inspection Processing" queue on the "Operations" tab? Or, they are
placed onto the tab but clocking-in to "Re-work" pulls them back out?
We don't have a separate inspection operation after each op, but in our
environment the NC parts show up in "Inspection Processing" when the NC
is entered by the operator on the operation.

We don't have inspection after each OP, the employee would report 95
parts
as complete and 5 as Non-Conformance. They decide what needs to be done
to
rework them, then they log into OP 20 using the Start Rework Activity
button. That puts the Parts at OP 20. When they complete them they put 5
in the Complete box and they move to the next OP.

Jeff -
Thanks for the response.
How do the 5 pieces get put back into op20 after they fail inspection?
And what happens if the "re-work" operation needed is not exactly the
same process as was done in op20?

In the case you listed, we just log back into OP 20 on the MES screen
and
Start Rework operation. However rework does not show up in the Employee
Efficiency report, so if an employee spends his whole day doing Rework,
the
Employee Efficiency report will show him as having a 0% efficiency for
the
day, because there is no standard to measure it against.

Subject: [Vantage] v6 Moving NC Material to Re-work Op
Say, for example, operations 20 and 30 are machining operations. During
op20, 5 parts out of 100 are found to be NC. 95 of those parts will
continue to op30, the rest can be re-worked and then continue on. Our
current process is that Engineering un-Releases/un-Engineers the job,
creates a new op25 (with a checkbox labeled "Rework Operation" on it,
though I think this is a customization) to re-work the 5 parts, and
re-Engineers/re-Releases the job.
How do I move the 5 pieces to op25 and the remaining 95 pieces to op30?
Can it be done using the "Inspection Processing" and "DMR Processing"
functionality?
Perhaps another/better question is: What are other people doing for
re-work situations that need to be inserted between existing operations?
Thanks.
