V8x Custom Crystal based Quote Worksheet

Mr. Calvin: That report is a pure ODBC report. You will have to
setup your ODBC driver and then change the datasource location in
Crystal (to match your ODBC DSN name) and then inside crystal change
the company ID to match your Company ID.

You can then add the ODBC report to your menu system.

Our estimators do not like the Standard Quote Worksheet form that comes
with Vantage 8. The report is a non-editable Progress report and does
not include any information regarding production hours at the operation
level. If it were a Crystal based report, this info would be fairly easy
to incorporate, since it is not, I am wondering if anyone has created a

If so, do you mind sharing it?

Hello,

I just read an article that states that Microsoft will no longer allow
PCs to be shipped with Windows XP at the end of the year!

Just wondering what people are doing to get ready for this? Are people
diving into Vista or are people going to install XP on these PCs
instead?

I have connected one laptop running Vista to our windows domain. It worked
out OK. I could not find a "command prompt" to issue commands to flush the
DNS and Netbios cashes. Also, no "run" option from the start menu.

RUN is under the accessories menu, but can be easily pinned to the start menu or added through taskbar customization.

You an also type run in the nifty start menu search field and it comes right up.

I just posted a zip file (ERMC_QuoteRpt) containing 2 quote reports.
One is a summary report which rolls up all operations and summarizes
the hours for each operation as a single line total per OP CODE. The
other is a detail worksheet that eliminates the gobblygook of the
progress report and replaces it with our own. Material information
is included in both. Contact me offline if you have other questions.

Hope you can get it to work. You will at least need to change the

I too am looking for a way to change the quote worksheet. Since it
cant' be done, I'll give Rich's Crystal Report a try.

I've only been using CR for a about a week now, so forgive the
newbie nature of my questions.

How are Rich's reports implemented? Are they added as report styles
to the existing Quote Form report group, using the QuotForm data
definition?

Or do you have to create new data defeinitions and a new report
group? If so, how do you link the new report to the Print Quote
Worksheet dialog box?

Thanks,

Calvin
