Vantage 6.1 Terminal Server 2003 PDF files

Kelly,

The first step is to find out where "My Documents" is for each user. Is
this a folder that they have at least "Modify" or "Full Control" rights
in? To identify the location of "My Documents", right-click its icon on
the desktop and select "Properties". In the Properties dialog you can
set the location. Or you can create a GPO for Terminal Server users
that set the location automagically.

have fun,
john

We have the following environment:

Vantage Server: Windows 2003
Windows Terminal Server: Windows 2003
Vantage Software: Vantage 6.10.528
Crystal Reports: Version 8.5
Adobe Pro 6.0

We are having trouble getting our files to print to the Adobe pdf
file format. We get the following error instantly every time:

"There was an error found when printing the document "filename" to My
Documents\*.pdf."

We were initially told by Epicor that under the Properties of the
Adobe PDF printer - on the General tab - that we needed to put our
User's Directory (due to Crystal Reports). On our drive we created a
shared folder called "Users" and each user has their own directory
with a "mfgwrk61" directory within the top level folder. So we
currently have under Location: E:\Users.

The first group that is trying to use this is the Purchasing Agent.
She would like to print her Purchase Orders to a PDF file so that she
can e-mail them out. When we choose Print, we pick the Adobe PDF
printer, check the "Print to File" and navigate to the E:\Users\ and
choose her folder. Once we choose OK, that is when we get the
error. We then have to delete the job.

If there is anyone out there that has a similar environment and is
using this feature, please let me know what steps you followed in
order to get this to work.

Thank you.

I am also running Vantage and Terminal on top of two separate W2K3
servers with the same version of CR. However, I use a utility called
PDF Factory, which converts whatever file format to PDF and also allows
me/users to save and or send said file. With this software there's no
need to choose a location you're essentially choosing a printer and
simply emailing it. When you setup your users and I'm assuming you're
in an AD environment you specify E:\users\%username% in the terminal
server profile?

Since I am not required to choose a location for creation of say jobs to
PDF I'm not entirely sure if this will help, but it sounds like from
what you wrote its referencing the "My Documents" directory and not the
working directory of mfgwrk61?
