Vantage 8.10x Reports on SQL Server

We went to Server 2003 with a Dell quad 4 server with 8gb memory to
resolve this issue.
It helped tremendously with all reports.

We run Vantage 8.000.810B on a SQL Server 2000 and some of our
Progress reports take about 25 minutes to run.

For example, our stock status report takes 25 minutes and more
sometimes to run and it is only 45 pages in length.

I have gone through multiple database tweaking with Epicor and Epicor
Partner consultants to no avail.

If you find ANY fix for the speed issue of a Vantage database on SQL
Server 2000, DEFINITELY KEEP ME INFORMED.

We would like to know what kind of speed people are seeing when using
standard vantage reports on a Sql Server system? In particular,we are
interested in how long Sales Orders and Purchase Orders are taking to
appear in print preview (our simply print). Are they taking a couple
of seconds, 15 seconds, 30 seconds, etc?

If someone could time theirs with a stopwatch and post their results,
it would be much appreciated. We would like to use this info to get a
baseline for which we can compare our system to.

Thanks!
60 to 90 seconds on Sales Orders.

Thanks,

Randy

We are seeing 30-60 seconds, but we really need it to be a matter of
seconds because we immediately fax them. Are you running a gigabit
network? That seemed to help improve our performance.

Thanks!

The number of lines on the S/O, P/O seems to have the most influence on
runtime. Here's what we see:

Sales Orders

1 line: 21 seconds
10 lines: 24 seconds
21 lines: 58 seconds

Purchase Orders

1 line: 9 seconds
22 lines: 13 seconds

These are averages based on three print previews of each order.
