MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
REPORTS TO: Manufacturing Operations Manager
MAIN DEPARTMENT: Manufacturing
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
BSME Preferred
Computer literate; CAD experience required; Vantage a bonus
Proficiency in machine processes and scheduling
Experience in new equipment technologies; EDM, LAZER, EBW
JOB SCOPE: Requires an understanding of drawings, processes for the
execution of these drawings and the equipment used in these processes. The
individual must understand computer systems sufficiently to maximize their
usefulness. The position requires excellent communication and people
skills, teamwork, and the ability to coordinate the effort to automate these
activities into simple tasks. Additionally, the position demands the
ability and commitment to support the business for extended periods during
the year.
TASKS:
Interpret drawings, allocate materials and prepare corresponding travelers.
Interpret complicated assemblies and translate the requirements to
travelers.
Prepare accurate estimates for each operation at the appropriate machine.
Maintain, interpret and update the Vantage database.
Maintain the factory capacity in Vantage accurate by proper utilization of
equipment and personnel.
Rationalize the workload vs. the capacity - proposing solutions to
bottlenecks (change the process, scheduling engineering, contract out, etc.)
Combine internal operations and vendor activities into a realistic schedule.
Provide input to Engineering at design & producibility reviews (DFM).
Recommend facility and equipment modifications or acquisitions to optimize
manufacturing throughput.
Develop method to incorporate parts lists into Vantage.
Explore other Vantage capabilities to aid the Business.
Perform duties to support the Business as assigned by Management.
