If you're on Maintenance, the upgrade to Epicor 9 is included whether you're
on Vantage, Enterprise, or any future Epicor product that has an upgrade
path to Epicor 9.

I thought that the upgrades from ie 8.03 to 8.04 are free, but I am under the impression that Vantage 8.03 and Epricor 9 are two totally different products therefore we would have to buy Epicor 9 form scratch.

Does anyone else know any more info?

Please tell me Im wrong if I am wrong! :-)

Does anyone know if we can move from vs 8.03 to Epicor 9 for free?

Cheers,

Chris,
Â
Sorry, I don’t have a magic fix for a V8 solution. You mention that you have not yet gone live with v8 – why would it cost a fortune to proceed with v9? Software is free – expense would be delta training, which for the most part may be only be for new functionality that you wish to use, such as the National Account improvements. Attached are a couple of screen shots – depending on how close your go-live is – have a more detailed look at v9 before proceeding.

Hi Justin,
Â
Sounds great, but we haven't even gone live with 8 yet!
Â
It would appear that Epicor are pretty much walking away from Vantage 8 and show little/no intentions of fixing some of the very annoying 'features'.
Â
Any got got any other suggestions that doesn't involve us spending a fortune?
Â
Cheers,

Upgrade to Epicor 9 where you can control how the credit is applied, meaning that you can choose whether or not you want child to be part of the national account credit pool or not.

Hi All,

I need to create a link between Customers. Basically, we need it to act exactly like the Parent/Child functionality in Vantage 8.03, but we do not want the customer credit limits of the children to be dependant on the parent's credit limit.

We deal with several companies where the Parent companies have hundreds of child companies. The child companies buy form us regularly but the parent never buys from us.

If we had a parent with 20 children each with a $1000 credit limit, we would have to assign a $20,000 credit limit to the parent company.

Therefore, this means that only one of the child companies could spend all of the $20,000 meaning they have in effect a $20,000 limit.

They should only have a $1000 limit / child company.

To make matters worse, most of our customer parent companies aren't even in the same currency.

For example, the parent company may be in Europe and may buy from us in Euros, whilst some of the children are in the US and buy from us in $.

I still can't get into my head why Epicor do it this way, but apparently it is "functioning as designed".

Does anyone know how to "work-around" this so we can link companies and display which companies are linked to other companies on the Customer Maintenance screen?

Regards,

CHRIS THOMPSON
