Steve, I believe that when you load a patch it has all of the other patch fixes already in it. So, you don't need to load all of the concurrent patches. When I have loaded patches in the past it has only taken about 10-20 minutes even when it's a major patch jump. But, we only have a 250 mb database.
My philosophy is: "If it's not broken, don't fix it." So, I only apply patches if we absolutely need it. Right now we're still on .317. I suppose if the error that you received is significant enough to warrant updating to the latest patch, then I would. But, if we received a minor error every once in a while, I wouldn't update ours. That's just my opinion.

Subject: [Vantage] Vantage Patches for version 5.00
We have been running pretty well lately without any problems on patch
5.00.310. We did just get an error the other day, that I was told by
support has been corrected in the most recent patch. I just have a
couple of questions for the group regarding the patches:
1. I know that the current patch is .322, if I choose to patch the
system, do I need to load all of the preceding patches, and if so,
about how long do they take? I currently have about a 1.5GB database.
2. What are your feelings about the recent patches? Is it worth it
for me to apply them, or has there been more trouble then anything
else after updating. Like I stated above, our system has been
running pretty smoothly and I really do not want to rock the boat.
Thanks in advance for your replies.
Steve
