Warehouse Digital Signage

@NateS Media converters from a company like BlackBox. They have devices for RS232/485 and other connection types as well.

@Mark_Wonsil Yep - we are, but for a different purpose. works OK with this little device we picked up from Amazon. Also, that link is no good - I get the dreaded error when I click it.

It seems like HDMI over ethernet is a good idea if your data source is not directly attached to the display. Right? If my display has a dedicated PC (stick or otherwise) then I just drive the display through the HDMI port. I can see how this could be useful. What are the main benefits for going this way?

I switched it from NZ to US:

What KPIs do you all like to display on your screens? I have a handful of BAQs we use now that might make good KPIs. But I am curious what the established standards are. Do you find yourselves changing the displayed content very often?

Yes

No one looks at screens for KPIs they get ignored. On the shop floor we use them for communication and statuses.

Not really we setup playlists with sources that contain dynamic data so the content is updated in whatever refresh cycle we have designated.

@NateS I don’t think there are any specific pros/cons, as you are just trying to get a video signal to a device - or you put the device out there. If you have multiple screens showing the same thing, a single source with a device like the one I linked is cheaper. If they are showing different things, then a device at each screen might be better… We’re not doing KPI displays just yet, but our device is for multiple screens during a presentation (trade show booth kind of thing).
