Tech support can send you documents on how to properly backup and restore an
additional database. If that doesn't work for you let me know off list.

Training and Test were automatically created when we installed the
software. If someone could steer us in the right direction to start the

Just do the same process when you created your training database all
over
again creating the 4th. I run a training copy & fiscal year end copy

We are in the middle of implementing Vantage 6.1.5 - We have a "live"
database, a "test" database and a "training" database. How difficult
would it be to create a fourth database? We want to copy "live"
information into this fourth database that will not be overwritten as
often as "test". Don't suggest we use the "training" database - I've
already been told we need it.

Susan,

You can have as many databases as you want. The main thing to watch for is
not allocating too much memory to your 'test' databases so that it degrades
you main database performance. We run four here, the regular, the training,
test and another just like you are proposing that does not get changed as
much.

Contact Epicor, they have a document on it and No you don't reinstall the
software it's just another entry in Progress Explorer along with a new .vtg
start up file.

Yeah I finally figured that out but can't get the database to start from
the PET. Guess I'll have to contact tech support. I may have a wrong
port number or something. I already copied everything into the new
folder and created a new MFG file but until I get the DB to start I'm
stuck.

Susan,

Remove try to remove most of the Buffers and such from that DB. We had
an issue with ours starting until we shut off 90% of the buffers.

We are so new - never used Progress before and it seems as though
Training and Test were automatically created when we installed the
software. If someone could steer us in the right direction to start the
process - "4th Database for Dummies Instructions" - we are adept enough
to take it from there. Do we have to reinstall the software to install a
4th database or what? Help!

Just do the same process when you created your training database all
over
again creating the 4th. I run a training copy & fiscal year end copy
also.

database, a "test" database and a "training" database. How difficult

it be to create a fourth database? We want to copy "live"
information into this fourth database that will not be overwritten as
