8.03 files Blank Title 51553

Hi,

I contacted my CAM and he told me that Epicor was not sending out CD/DVD
for 8.03 unless the customer asked for it.

He then pointed me to a Feature Summary page on EpicWeb.

You can find this summary by logging into EpicWeb, click on
Manufacturing on the right-hand side, and then click Feature Summary on
the left-hand side.

Thanks,

Carey,

My understanding is that we will be getting an 8.03.300 DVD in the near
future. EpicWeb has the 8.03.303 patch.

If I am reading the patch install doc (page 3) correctly, 8.03.300 must
be installed prior to the 8.03.303 patch.

Have you received the 8.03.300 DVD?

Dale

Cliff, I agree. Drives me nuts to download like that. Then I remember
that I
should download the docs first so I am not waiting for the large files
to
download before I can get the docs to read. That, however is good, that
I
can read the individual docs without having to download the whole
package.
But better organization would be nice for sure.
Anyway, I am currently installing 803 on a test machine, and that doc is
a
little difficult to deciper as well. Oh well, at least I have the
weekend to
work on it.

If anyone else has any comments from a test install or otherwise, I
would
like to see them posted here.

I hear that there are only a couple of techs at Epicor who have actually

installed it and have been working with it, so I guess we will all learn

together.

Daily I see new files cropping up on the Epicor Web Site. Yes I get the
daily emails of new files. Is it just me or are the descriptions of
these files "worthless". Has Epicor EVER heard of a Zip file in which
you would place related files instead of down-loading the docs
separately from the programs ?

Here's hoping they are sending out an 8.03 cd that might have some
version cohesiveness....

Tired of trying to figure it all out.

Dale,
I assumed also that I would receive a DVD, but have not heard anything.
I got distracted from my tests this afternoon, but was in the middlle of
reading the doc when I haf to leave. I see the mention of the prereq in the
install doc. I will continue to look around and post the results.
