9.05 on Server 2008 R2 64 Bit

Merry Christmas everyone.

Key to this is making sure you have the most recent version of the Java Run
time environment, and then install the Microsoft Java Virtual
Machine(msjavax86.exe) manually from the rl102a\3party folder on your DVD.

Subject: [Vantage] 9.05 on Server 2008 R2 64 Bit

Anyone have any advice on installing 9.05 on Server 2008 R2 64 bit?

When attempting to install progress - the "installing progress" status
window appears for a few moments - then disappears.

The install does not complete.

The only thing create under the OE directory is VNSTART

Have local Admin rights on the box - UAC is disabled (to the best of my
knowledge)

Have tried to "run as administrator"

Am logged into machine via domain credentials. Am accessing the server via
RDP

I have installed on 64bit Server 2008 without issue - but never on 2008 R2

I had a consultant help us with our 64 bit 9.05 install and he couldn't get it installed even with working with Epicor Tech Support. We ended up installing the 32 bit version on our 64 bit 2008 R2.

We have had several installations on Windows Server 2008 R2 64 bit.

It had a variety of problems but still managed to get it done, but not the one that you are facing.

One of the points about installing progress is to install it on C:\Progress folder rather than the default folder the Epicor installation recommends. Apparently that is what is recommended by Epicor tech experts. This is not in the installation guides.

There are several tips I have with me which is basically set of power point slides from Epicor, let me know if you need that and I need to check whether it has any copyright and other legal stuff I need to be aware off.
