we are trying to add tooling to our jobs, how do you you guys manage tooling?
as a resource, bill of material item or another way?
If the item is not consumed, then it is a resource. However, you may want to be careful if you are using finite capacity. A tool can move between jobs physically, but it is more effort inside Epicor to do that.
Another thought is to have the tool mentioned in the Operation notes (either on the Operation Master, or the BOO).
I have seen the tool both on the bom as a material for location purposes and usage purposes and as a resource for scheduling.

we are a custom manufacturer and its molds, RF dies and cutting dies
We attempted them as resources, but ended up making a TOOL revision for the assembly and list them and notes there.
