Any feedback on E10 Product Configurator?

Good question….Not sure I can completely answer that. There is client folder that gets created and also a server folder. Not sure the contents of each. If you want to email me directly, I can discuss further. Or maybe I can give you a join.me so you can see.

Thanks Anthony!

One follow up question with regards to bullet number 1.
Has some of the code execution been moved to the client side?
For example, in E9, a simple 1 + 1 statement would have to be executed on the server.

If some of the code execution has been moved to the client, can you speak to the type of programming that can run on the client and what type still runs on the server? Just at a high level.

1. Not all client side

2. Functions similar

3. I have just scratched the surface on new functionality

4. Yes. All C# syntax. No more calling .P files

5. Yes…More flexible

Conversion was fairly simple. I ran into a few issues but that comes with being a beta customer.

Hi All,

One of the tasks we will need to work on when we start migrating to E10 is to rewrite our configurators.
Hearing that this is in C# sounds pretty exciting but I was wondering if anyone out there on E10 have any feedback on configurators?

Some of the things I’m curious about is:

· Does the configurator run entirely on the client side now?

· Do you have similar functionality to that of a standard UI customization?

o Can you call other BOs as needed?

o Full C# syntax

· Do you find that it’s more “flexible”?

o Creating a reusable function in ABL was a little tricky
