APM 2.5 to 2.6 upgrade

Completed the 'upgrade' of our production server today.
Backed up APM (doclink2) and Service Connect (ESCDB) databases
Uninstalled SQL 2000
Uninstalled DocLink
Installed SQL2005 + SP3 (2.6 requires SQL 2005 or 2008)
Installed APM 2.6 - remember to setup COM services
Restored databases
Ran SQL conversion exe

Ran into 1 issue - somehow the ERM configuration got duplicated and the ERM Service picked the wrong one so documents would not get processed - Deleted the bad row from DB and all seems good.

Set up Routing lists for each Buyer (PO Form) and used their email address as the reply to in the routing email configuration - no more out of office replies to generic doclink email address for emailed POs

Subject: [Vantage] APM 2.5 to 2.6 upgrade

Has anyone out there preformed the upgrade themselves for Advance Print Management from version 2.5 to 2.6? We just got the CD in the mail and it has been recommended from support that we upgrade but it appears to be a clean install not just an in place upgrade. I know we had some issues that the 2.5 install instructions were not complete so we could not install ourselves and had to get Epicor to install for a fee.

If anyone has done this an ran into any issues please let me know. Thank you

I did a test upgrade from 2.5.31 to 2.6 and the db upgrade scripts did not run properly. I restored the 2.5.28 db and the upgrade scripts ran, but 2 stored procedures were not created. I compared the Stored Procedures fron upgraded db and a blank new db and found the missing ones and created them in the upgraded db. It seemed to work correctly after that - I did not do extensive testing - I did confirm you can apply email return address based upont routing groups

We did an in-place install from 2.5 to 2.6 and it completely hosed APM, however, I must mention that we have having some issues with APM to begin with. Fortunately, our APM server is virtualized and we simply restored to an older working snapshot (with 2.5). Because of this experience, we are not going to upgrade to 2.6 anytime soon especially since I dont think I can get approval for a paid assisted-installation when we are paying for support to Epicor to begin with.

Thanks,
Kunal

We went from 2.5 to 2.6 but had to do a clean install. We removed any programs related to APM but kept the sql databse. I personally didn't do this. We had epicor do it. The fellows name is Dan Pringle. He's a good guy that reinstalled 2.6 within a few hours. All is working fine. I would highly recommend him.

Thanx

I would agree with all of these statements. We just upgraded to 2.6 and did the exact sames process described below with Dan's help and ended with good results. Well worth it.
