APM - new windows 7 64 bit printing issues

I’d think about setting up a second APM printer as an option for Windows 7 machines, since windows 7 doesn’t have the HPLJ 5 as a standard printer, and the LJ 4260 is a better printer to be using with 2008 R2 and Windows 7.

Subject: [Vantage] APM - new windows 7 64 bit printing issues

Just replaced 4 XP computers with windows 7 64 bit machines.

Installed the LaserJet 5 printer driver from windows update and connected to shared LaserJet 5 printer on the APM server.

Documents sent to the APM printer are sitting in the print queue and errors are logged in system event log

"win32 error code returned by the print processor 259" - As near as I can tell, it is a driver or print setting issue

Anyone else experience this and can help me resolve this?

BTW we can print fine to APM printer from a Server 2008 R2 (64 bit) Terminal Server

Make sure to uncheck the "render print job on client" check box at both the server and the Windows 7 level (located in the printer properties). Could also be the x64 driver not being available at the server level.

What is your server OS?
