Auto Holiday in Vantage Payroll

This may be information you don't need, but thought I'd pass it along just in case. Following our company handbook, all employees whether they are on an 8-hour shift or a 10-hour shift only receive 8 hours for holidays. Employees on a 10-hour shift have the opportunity to work a couple of extra hours during the week to receive an 80 hour 2-week paycheck. Number of hours are set in Holiday entry at 8. HR has to go thru and manually change any holiday hours that shouldn't be 8 (part time, no paid holidays; didn't work the day before and after, no paid holiday; etc.), we're small enough to do this. In our setup (using Vantage payroll), a report like yours would probably include info from LaborDtl and Payroll and would be "after the fact". I don't know if you're looking at Epicor 9 at all, but it makes use of a "Quick Entry" code that would be a fast way of adding hours to labor detail.

We don't enter holiday or PTO hours in labor entry, when labor hours are balanced against payroll hours the difference will be holiday + PTO hours.

Hi everyone,

Does anyone know of a way to have Vantage "automatically" generate a labor entry for holidays?

I don't believe there's a build in way in Vantage to generate holidays automatically in the labor tables, but they are automatically generated in payroll when you generate checks. We don't enter holiday or PTO hours in labor entry, when labor hours are balanced against payroll hours the difference will be holiday + PTO hours.

Thanks Sue, the reason I ask is I'm writing a custom report based on the Labor Detail table that I need to figure out how many "standard" hours an employee should have been paid for in a two week work period and if there is a holiday in that period, I need to add those extra hours into the two week period total based on the type of shift they work (4-10 hour days or 5-8 hour days).
