BAQ Nubie question

Cliff, how are you?

It looks, from what you wrote, that you are trying to open a BAQ from the BAQ Report designer and they are totally different files. The general steps to create a BAQ Report are:

1. Create a BAQ (what I call a base query)

2. Create a BAQReport (Through the BAQ Report Designer)

3. Select your previously created BAQ to be the base for your BAQ-Report (I know, I know.... BAQ here, BAQ there is confusing, but you'll get used to it)

4. Test Run your new BAQReport, to generate the Crystal file (*.rpt) in your CustomReports folder in Epicor server location (epicor/mfgsys803/server/reports/CustomReports)

5. Open your automatically-generated Crystal file from Crystal Reports; retrieve the temporary xml file generated by Vantage and placed in: epicor/mfgsysdata/reports/username; design and format your Crystal Report (form)

At the end, (and I always document completed reports with these), you should have a BAQ, a BAQReport, a Crystal file and a Vantage Menu Path.

Hope this helps Cliff.

Subject: [Vantage] BAQ Nubie question.

I copied a BAQ and modified it slightly and then created a crystal
report from it. Now when I go to open the BAQ in BAQ Report designer I
get an application error. Column 'FileTypeID' does not belong to table
DynamicQuery and it doesn't open. Where am I going wrong ?
