BOM Listing Blank Title 83864

Is it possible to export BOM Listing data to excel? Or is there any freeware capable of converting XPS format to excel?

Currently using trial of Able2Extract Pro 7. However I know my purchasing department may question requirement given cost of 140 USD per license.

Any input much appreciated.

Daniel
Does anyone know what tables are used in the BOM Listing report? I know
it's currently a progress report. Has anyone converted this to Crystal?

Thanks,

There's a Custom BOM Report that I wrote for MSSQL in the Files section of the group site. It relies on Stored Procedures and ODBC or better yet SQL Native Client to get its data.

The BOM listing is basically header information from Part and PartRev plus a recursive query on PartMtl. You can't do recursive joins in a BAQ, but you can do it in SQL Server 2005 using Common Table Expressions.

I know at least one other user here who is using this report and likes it.

That's part of why the Vantage report is in Progess - because if you want it to be portable across platforms you need to do the recursive query in Progress functions since BAQ syntax won't cut it.

If you're interested in using the Custom BOM Report I'm happy to answer questions. There are instructions in the ZIP file on how to get it going.

I have a shared variable published out from the main report on the Quote

SubReport

Main Report
Formula: FromSubReport
Shared NumberVar VariableX;

* Place FromSubReport formula in Main Report after SubReport

Formula: PopulateVariableXTotal

VariableXTotal := VariableXTotal + VariableX

* Place PopulateVariableXTotal after Formula FromSubReport

Formula: DisplayVariableXTotal

Ok, thanks that worked Great...

I have Subreport Misc Charge Total Line 1 = $80.00
I have Subreport Misc Charge Total Line 2 = $150

So at the Bottom of My Report
I have the Total Quote Charges = $1120
I have DisplayVariableXTotal = $230 (but since this is a shared var it
doesn't reflect the actual value)

I want to add those two to geta grand total of $1340

It is hard for me to know exactly what your report is doing. Send me a copy directly to me email address and let me take a look.

When I started out with Vantage and Crystal I made Misc Charges Subreports also, but you really do not need a Subreport to bring back these numbers. I do a lot of this on the Invoice side for Financial Reporting since, like most companies, we look at things differently than the canned reports show us.

In Crystal for Invoicing I group like so

InvHead.InvoiceNum
InvDtl.InvoiceLine

Then I place the InvcMisc.MiscAmt field in the detail section. Now for each Invoice Line I can see and get the Misc Charges and do my totaling for the Line and for the Invoice in the appropriate Group Headers. Since we do not want to evaluated all Misc Charges into Sales Numbers (i.e. Freight) I use a formula based on the field MiscChrg.SalesAnalysis to see if it is true when I either set up a running total or manually totaling it like the example in my first email. And if a new Misc Charge is added to Vantage and marked True for Sales Analysis the report will always pick it up and ignore the ones we do not want with no intervention on my part.

SubReport
Formula: ToMainReport
Shared NumberVar VariableX;
VariableX = Y

Main Report
Formula: FromSubReport
Shared NumberVar VariableX;

* Place FromSubReport formula in Main Report after SubReport

Formula: PopulateVariableXTotal
Shared NumberVar VariableXTotal;
VariableXTotal := VariableXTotal + VariableX

* Place PopulateVariableXTotal after Formula FromSubReport

Formula: DisplayVariableXTotal
Shared NumberVar VariableXTotal;

* Place DisplayVariableXTotal on end of group or report

Use may also need a formula to "Declare VariableXTotal" to reset its value
to 0 before populating it. It all depends on how your report is setup

Has anyone published out the miscellaneous charges from their subreports out
on the main report and then totaled them at the bottom.

I thought I did this once before.
I have a shared variable published out from the main report on the Quote
from each Miscellaneous Charge Subreport; but cant figure out how to total
at bottom

TIA

Ann

I'm working on putting together a single level BOM listing since the one from Vantage has a lot to be desired. If you can provide me with some guidance. Is it better to do a BAQ from scratch or better to modify the data definition from the existing report? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Ken

Ken,.

You could make a copy of the Standard Crystal Report and add the fields that you would like to see in the Report Data Definition.I think that would be easier that creating a new BAQ and a brand new crystal report.

I created a new BAQ , very simple but it works for us.

We've built a dashboard that utilized Part Search
to name the part and then return the different
levels in different tabs of the dashboard.

Below is a graphic of what it looks like. If the
graphic does not survive, e-mail me at bcarlson@....

If you are interested I'll export the package and
send it to you.....this is in V 8.03.408B.

I went through customization to get a Crystal BOM report out of this.

In the customization for the BAQ report when you enter the part
number/Rev/Alt Method it then calls the BOMSearch adapter and returns the
BOM for the entered Part/Rev/Alt Method. I then go through this line-by-line
and insert each entry into a the UD101A table.

The BAQ Report is simply going against the UD101/UD101A tables, then joins
in Part, PartRev, etc as needed.

Even if you do a dashboard it probably doesn't match exactly, but with this
method it will always match Epicor 100%.

Hello Everyone,

We have the latest release of E 904 installed and a database converted up from 6.1. Currently under the help menu "application tutorial" is grayed out and not selectable. I was wondering if this is something we have to pay for or if others have the same issue.

Any information would be helpful !

Thanks in advance,
