[BULK] Epicor 9 - BAQ Help

PartBin records are not persistent. They only exist if O/h is not zero. When a qty is received or transfered in the whse bin that was previosuly zer for the part, the partbin record is recreated.

You have two choices:

Either create your part to partbin join as outer (showing ALL part records whether there is a partbin record or not),

Or utilize PartBinInfo. Intended as a Bin level KanBan enabling field, just filling out some of the info (whse & Bin) is enough to make a permanent part-bin relationship.

The data table contains O/H data that DOES persist if o/h he zero.

Rob

Hi,

I have set up a BAQ that will display the Part, Description and OnHandQty.

I have linked the Part as the parent table with the PartBin as the child.

I can get it to display everything EXCEPT ...

When the BIN has a qty of Zero it will not show. If it has a positive or negative figure it displays.

Does anyone know how I can get it to display the Bin qty for ANY qty incl Zero?

Cheers,

CHRIS

Hi Cliff,

That's almost there actually.

However, it now only displays if a bin has a qty. If qty=0 the bin or part doesnt show.

I have tried that, but as soon as I introduce the PartAlloc table to the
phrase builder, when I Analyse, it returns no results as if there is a
conflict between the two table.

I have had something similar where I wanted to see Part No, Weight,
Whse, Bin, but as soon as I added the PartBin table to the Phrasebuilder
it returned no results.

Cheers.

I think you are going to have to pull in the PartAlloc table also and
subtract the allocations from the on hand quantities.

Hi,

I am trying to write a simple (so I thought) BAQ which I want to use
with a Quick Search.

I want it to display the following:

Part Number | Description | Net Weight | On Hand Qty | Available
Qty

This way, before the part is even added to a SO or Quote, the user in
our Sales Department can see if we have the part available.

I have written a BAQ with the PART and PARTWHSE tables and can
sucessfully display the first 4 columns on my quick search/BAQ, however,
I am struggling to get the 5th column to display.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

CHRIS THOMPSON

I see you are on 9. I am on 8.03.407a, but I don't think it will make to much of a difference. You will need to do an outer join on the PartAlloc table, but after looking at mine, there is no information in it. I do see that there are a number of allocation and reservedQty fields in the PartWhse table. I'm just not sure what you would add and/or subtract to get your available quantity.

Superb!!

One last thing.

If I want to display the 'available' qty i.e. the qtyonhand in all bins MINUS the qty allocated to orders (parts that are on unshipped orders).

If you can helo with that, I will be very grateful.

CHEERS.

Why not use Part and PartWhse - the PartWhse table holds Qty on hand and all the allocated qtys (at least in V8.03xxx) - look in the data dictionary to see if this would work for you...

One thing to note - sometimes the qtys in this table are not updated properly which requires a 'conversion' routine to be run to recalculate them (6430)

I have managed to get the SalesDemandQty to appear, but if a part has two bins assigned, the no. of lines in the BAQ returned is doubled.

For example a Part has two bins A and B, before adding the PartWhse table it shows the onhandqty correctly. As soon as I add the PartWhse table it repeats the two lines.

All that I require is an OnHandQty for all the bins added together, minus the SalesDemandQty to give me my Available qty.

[Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
I have added my BAQ to a quick search and each time it returns the results, it returns two lines per part. One with an available value and one without.

Any ideas?
