It means it’s already transacted through the system. Your only way of changing it after that is SQL scripts. You would have to dump inventory, and change it with SQL and put inventory back at the right conversion. I don’t recommend it unless you really really deeply understand the system and how it all ties together.

Joshua, thanks very much for the tip. Unfortunately it throws an error when I try to convert it that says “Part Rev records already exist for this part”. Not sure what that means but nonetheless it wouldn’t let me do it.

Under System Management > Utilities > Part UOM Conversion you could try that.
Otherwise you would have to write SQL scripts to make the changes for you which can get hairy and voids support.

We are wanting to change the IUM (Inventory unit of measure) for some parts in Epicor 9. When we try and do this, the dropdown list for IUM doesn’t allow us to change it. We can change the Sales and Purchasing unit of measures without any problem. Any way around this????
