My question is, has anyone attempted to change a UOM class after the fact to avoiding having to create new part numbers?
I’m going  to also reach out to Epicor support to see if they have some undocumented way of doing this as well but thought that I could get more input from people who may tried.

Hi All,

So I know that you cannot change the UOM class on a part after certain transactions have occurred.

However, I also know that we are talking about a database so theoretically, anything is possible.

My question is, has anyone attempted to change a UOM class after the fact to avoiding having to create new part numbers?

I’m going  to also reach out to Epicor support to see if they have some undocumented way of doing this as well but thought that I could get more input from people who may tried.

Joe:

I am contacting off list to avoid the possible ire or Epicor.

I have 3-4 UBAQs that make this possible. I only use them when there have not been transactions done that are in the wrong UOM. The solution attached has them all.

The baqs change partbin, parttran, partuom, part and partuom. The RFQ one is in the odd case of an RFQ for a non-part becoming a part the UOM is blank and makes entry in the correct uom impossible.

Subject: [Vantage] E9: Changing UOM Class

Hi All,

So I know that you cannot change the UOM class on a part after certain transactions have occurred.
However, I also know that we are talking about a database so theoretically, anything is possible.

My question is, has anyone attempted to change a UOM class after the fact to avoiding having to create new part numbers?
I'm going to also reach out to Epicor support to see if they have some undocumented way of doing this as well but thought that I could get more input from people who may tried.
