Michelle-

We used to do the same thing - copy all those invoices and mail them
along with an Excel spreadsheet listing them out in order to calculate
the commission owed. Now, however, we use the system's Commission
Report. We accrue commissions "AT INVOICE" and pay commissions "AT
PAYMENT". For those outside sales reps, before we run/print the report
selection, we go into the "Workforce Maintenance" and select "AT
PAYMENT" (in the "Workforce Maintenance" section of Accounts Receivable)
for each outside sales rep. It is "fairly" accurate, however, it is not
completely relied upon to issue a commission check, this is because our
commission structure doesn't fit well with Vantage (X% for the first
year of a new part, then reverting to Y% thereafter). Because the way
the system works, we (accounting) are dependent upon Order Entry getting
the commission rate correct at order entry because the system does not
allow any changes on the back-end (i.e. prior to posting the invoice).

Looking to see what type of report you supply to your reps with the
commission check so that they can reconcile their records. Previously,

were supplying copies of the invoices that we were paying commissions
on, as
well as the vantage commission report. That was getting way out of hand

too time consuming. I am looking for a report that list invoices paid

month with the commissions due-sorted by rep, invoice#, customer name,
corresponding so#, customer po#, and commission due. I am absolutely
worthless in trying to create a report in report builder , or even
export
utility.

Does anyone have something like this that they are willing to share?
Maybe
Xmas will come a little early for me lol ......

I have something close but missing some of the fields you desire. Due to commission splits I had to resort to exporting to an Access DB. The data is extracted as a CSV file using RB then imported to the database. The fields missing would be only be SO# and PO# so easily added. The Access report we use does not show invoice details - just customer totals within rep but that would be an easy enough change.

If this sounds like a good enough starting place email me off list at caugheyt@... and I'll send a PRL and an empty database (Access-95 but easily upgradeable).
