This DO is just used as the trigger for Invoice Entry.

We have two companies that require us to send them stock on consignment. I insist that they be invoiced at shipping even
though they may not use that stock right away. The planners then must rely on spreadsheets to know when to replenish this stock. Is anyone out in Vantageland contending with this problem and how do you handle it? Thanks Bob Christian

What if you create a non-nettable bin called consignment and transfer the
stock there. You can track it but for replenishment purchasing will not see
the quantity in your non-nettable bin.

Extremely common in Asia and becoming more so in the States. At least you have enough juice to demand when the product is invoiced. For us, we are not able to invoice until the parts are consumed.

How we handle this is to create a separate warehouse. When it's time to replenish stock we do a misc. shipment to get the parts out of the building. We then do a stk-stk transfer to the 'customer' warehouse. While the parts do show as onhand we have visibility in part tracker by warehouse as to where the parts physically exist. Also through stock status by warehouse.

We are notified that the parts have been consumed via a customers web site at which point we generate a delivery order for those parts to the customer. This DO is just used as the trigger for Invoice Entry.
