Could anybody explain the “consumed qty” field within Forecast Entry.
I need to know how it is calculated and where the data is coming from.
Has this anything to do with the tickbox behind part / partplant / planning tab?
A while since I looked at it but I believe that sales orders consume forecast. I think with MPS it is job orders that do the consumption. I can’t remember the exact parameters but I think if the sale order/line/release is for the same part on the same day and has the appropriate quantity it consumes forecast.
James has it right. If your forecast date is 6/1 and your Days Before and Days After are each set to 15, then any Sales Order placed for that part with a ship date BETWEEN (6/1 minus 15 days) and (6/1 + 15 days) will “consume” that quantity of the forecast. Say a forecast for 25 units is out there, and a Sales Order is place for 5 with a shipdate of 6/5. Now your forecast record will say a Forecast Quantity of 25 with a Consumed quantity of 5, meaning there is still a net of 20 parts due.
Thank you for this…i think the problem is we’ve set the days before and after at 365 as per earlier screenshot with no clear understanding of the impact.
