For those using the Quote Management Module:
We are experiencing the following problem. Let's say we create a new quote
in Quote Entry by adding a new line with manufacturing details and we change
some of the information such as description/unit cost/operation hours etc.
and click on the template toggle. If we want to copy this line as the
details for a different part by choosing "copy quote line" the details for
the added line do not reflect the changes we had made in the first quote
line and instead revert back to all of the standards set up. Well, what's
the use of copying a quote line if you cannot copy it exactly as it is in
the quote?
Does anyone know of a fix for this or do I have to go to Vantage support to
have a mod done?
Also, I have noticed another unpleasant problem. If you change your costs
in your part master and then you go back and look at an old quote (let's say
6 months old) you will see all of the new material costs and not the old
ones that your quote was based on. How are you supposed to compare the old
quote to a new one if the old quote mistakenly contains new costs? In my
opinion, this shouldn't be happening and in fact is not acceptable. Any
comments or suggestions on this?
