In case you were wondering about the gory details:

Basically the SSL root certificate that they bundled with the old API is expiring. They've changed their model to no longer bundle certificates with the API SDK and instead just use the cert cache on the server.

It would be difficult to proxy this given its direct SSL so I suspect some folks are going to be SOL and will need to process payments manually until they can get test and deploy the service pack.

Dave is correct, it will break without the patch.

Same with us Epicor 9 users, it will break unless we apply patch 9.04.504A when it's released.

Not sure how many in this group use credit card processing, but, in case finance has not passed along the info to IT area, PayPal changed their interface and put an end date to the old interface as of Sept 1, 2009.

It is my understanding that the PayPal fix is only in 408A - allegedly due out this week. At one time I thought that PayPal was pretty much the only processor that Epicor interfaced with. It is our understanding that come Sept 1 your credit card processing will have a problem unless you are on 408A.

Another credit card issue - we are testing 408 and found a bug when using the packout/stage-ship-confirm function. If you process a credit card order, the system will charge the credit card, but not update inventory, trigger shipping transactions or close the order if you process the package with stage-ship-confirm. We've reported it as a bug and Epicor can reproduce it, but we are waiting for a fix. It is assigned SCR 64951.

Just thought I'd give any users out there with credit cards the heads up on these issues.

Are you saying that we will have a problem if we do not upgrade to 8.03.408A by Sept 1? We are still on 8.03.305L, hoping to upgrade soon...if so...this just might be the push we needed.
