Basically the SSL root certificate that they bundled with the old API is expiring. They've changed their model to no longer bundle certificates with the API SDK and instead just use the cert cache on the server.
It would be difficult to proxy this given its direct SSL so I suspect some folks are going to be SOL and will need to process payments manually until they can get test and deploy the service pack.

Same with us Epicor 9 users, it will break unless we apply patch 9.04.504A when it's released.
