Per the following posting I dug out of my postings archive.....you can download a registry fix routine from the YahooGroup archives. Troy Funte posted the following once upon a time.

You might need the Outjoin registry fix for Crystal and ODBC. There is
one for the Merant 3.6 drivers on the egroups files list here

If you are using a different version of ODBC drivers, you may need to
contact Seagate Software (Crystal) support for the proper file. I have one
for Merant 3.5 if you happen to have that version.

I just started using Crystal a few months ago and used to have this same problem. To manually fix it I did this...From the report I was running I clicked on database, show sql query and then deleted the {oj} from the first and the } at the end and my report would run. To fix it permanently our administrator had to go into the registry and make some changes, sorry I don't have the exact details of what they were. I'd call epicor support they should be able to help you.

This is the error that I get when I try to refresh after adding my
fields:

ODBC error [Merant] [ODBC Progress Driver] The keywords LEFT OUTER
JOIN were not found in an outer join escape sequence.

We are running Crystal Version 8.0.

BTW: I am not using a left join in my linking. I even tried to open
some of the reports in the Files section and came up with the same
error. This is my first time using Crystal.
