Crystal Reports - Subreport Shared Variables

Thanks again Vic! I think I will be able to make it work using formulas.

Once you place the sub-report's result into the container report's shared variable, you can use it in other formulas. However, I don't believe you can use the Crystal Reports SUM or RT's.

Any usage of the returned variable's data must be used in another formula. However, using creative formulas you can simulate sum's.

Now that I was able to pass the variable from the sub-report to the main report, is it possible to do any kinda of summaries or running totals on the shared variable that is passed into the main report?

Thanks,

Dustin,

You must make sure that you pass the variable back to the Parent report and then use your shared var in a section after the section where you bring back the sub-report var. See the site below. It gives you step-by-step directions

I have a crystal report that has a subreport linked in it. I am able to pass a variable from the main report to the sub-report with the statement: Shared NumberVar X:= {invcdtl.unitprice} . Passing this variable from the main report to the sub-report works fine. However, is it possible to pass a variable from the SUB-report to the MAIN-report? I am using similar logic & formulas  but it doesn't seem to be working the way I would like. Any thoughts?

Thanks
