I have no ideas why the don't have text as text and numbers as numbers !!

it makes linking very limited in potential power

The problem might be that on epicor's form (if I remember correctly) they
turn their numbers into text so you need to do a conversion to link the po#,
line and release fields so that the 2 fields you are linking are the same
type. I haven't touched this in quite a while, but I seem to remember that
being an issue.

Would anyone be willing to offer advice on this - I want to add a simple
field into the PO form (showing if a line/release has a partial shipment
against it), - POREL.receivedqty. Thanks to earlier help from folks on this
list, I know I have to add a subreport, andI think I have that part down
okay, but I guess I don't understand the linking piece of it. To me, it
makes sense that I should link to the PO number, PO line, PO Rel and then
grab the POREL.receivedqty, but
I don't get any data, plus when I use any of the xxxxx.PONum fields, I don't
have an appropriate field to select from to link to. I've tried umpteen
different links and finally found one "porel.duedate" that gives me data on
the specific PO I'm looking at, but also 4 others. That makes sense if it's
just looking for matching due dates, but then if I add PONum again, I get
nothing.

I must have a mental block or something, because it seems like it should be
simple enough (I watched Epicor's web video like 6 times), so I would
appreciate any help on this immensely!

Thanks guys & gals!

I have tried to add sub-reports to Crystal Reports before and could not
complete the task because the fields I needed to link would not be
available. I called tech support about it and was told you cannot
create a sub-report to all tables because of some limitations in
Crystal. Don't know if this is true or not but it was very frustrating.

Because epicor changes the ponum to a string when it takes it to
Crystal, you have to convert it back to a number.
ToNumber(POHeader.POnum) should do the trick, then when you link the
subreport, link it to this newly created formula field.

I had to do the same thing with the RMANumber.

Hope that helps,
Shari
Thanks, I wouldn't have thought of that in a million years! Thanks alot.

Julie
