In my experience this is not a unique occurrence, I have seen frequently that CTRL-V and CTRL-C will stop working. Sometimes one will work but not the other. The only option is to use right click to copy and paste. Logging out and back in seems to reset it. I would report it but I have not found the steps to duplicate it consistently.
