I had some custom reports that were created in my Epicor Test Custom Reports Folder. I haven’t worked on them as they were ready to go. However we did upload a new test database and now previewing my custom reports they seem to have lost my customization?? HELP? I never updated the paths to the new reports just previewed using the GUID. I planned on just moving and updating my paths when we went live.
Aren’t the reports stored in a separate Reports Database that wouldn’t have been affected by a new Test Database?
I appreciate anyone’s help in Advance…
Can you browse to the custom reports using: http://sqlservernamegoeshere/reports > the SSRS Root folder for the Test database when you created the report > customreports > folder that should have the name of the base report that it was a duplicate of ?
What I am finding is some of my customized reports are there with my changes. The one that required the most work - is missing my changes which is very strange. It was the traveler that I had converted from landscape to portrait and added header and footers custom fields. hmmmm… Is there a way to get back a prior version? This is very strange. I even have printed hard copies of them that they were completed and ready to go.
If you used the rs.exe you may have accidently overwritten it :z The only way is if you have a backup of the .rdl or the Reports Database, Perhaps Server Backups.
Yes I have a backup of the reports database. But if that was the case wouldn’t all my reports be missing?
Probably, very odd. I am not sure what may have happened. All I can think of is some kind of accidental overwrite, perhaps Test was overwritten by something previously, then when you moved it to Production, you realized it’s a different style.
Perhaps restore and try again.
On your Test (where you expect the modified one to have existed)
If you go to http://YourSSRSServer/Reports and then navigate to CustomReports and go to the Job Trav one change the view to “Detail View” and check the Date Modified.
It looks like the last date I modified, I’m beside myself. Mostly, it’s the traveler I converted from landscape to portrait. But I do think someone uploaded a portrait copy for me at one point. So, I may download and see if I can start there. Thanks for all your help.
When “browsing” the reports server, there is a search function. Search for the report name (partial matches work). Hopefully you find it someplace else
