Customs/Export Reports Before Shipment

We are currently using Insite Manifest for generating export documents (NAFTA, Commercial Invoice) for our international shipments. However, our broker has been asking for these documents before they have been picked up, and these requests are getting earlier in the process. To the point where the product has not always been finished yet.
The broker is “Pre Clearing” customs so when the shipment arrives at the border it is already cleared and they do not have to wait.

Since we cannot create a shipment yet for these we cannot generate either a NAFTA or a commercial invoice through Manifest.

Has anyone else run into this issue and how have you handled it?

I remember I used to use the Pro-Forma invoice in the Sales Order Entry screen to create the invoice for custom purposes.

Thanks, that is what I ended up doing. I created a second report to label it as the “Commercial Invoice” and it should be what we need. I think I will end up doing the same thing for the NAFTA COO, but that will require more work.
