Disassemble finished goods

Mark

You can but it gets a bit messy when you have one material issue item
which disassembles into many parts back into stock

Could you elaborate on how to use each of these methods?

We can certainly use the Misc. Return to Stock, the issue is the number
of
parts makes it a bigger task. The ultimate solution would work with the
RMA
system. We already have a "Return Assembly to Stock" but it would be
"real
cool" to have a "Return Components to Stock". The command would list the
components from the Job or Engineering records and the user would
selectively
return some parts to stock and scrap others (parts that can't be reused:
seals, gaskets, etc.)

We are using Vantage 8.00 and have not been able to find a way to
disassemble a finished goods item.

Example:

Part A = Part B + Part C

I want to take one Part A out of stock, disassemble it and return one
Part B and one Part C to stock.

Has anyone found a way to do this?

Thanks,
Rob
Rob,

Go to:

> Materials Mgmt
>> Inventory Mgmt
>>> General Operations
>>>> Issues/Returns

Select "Issue To: Miscellaneous". Part A, qty 1. It's now gone up in a
puff of smoke.

Select "Return From: Miscellaneous". Part B, qty 1. Part C, qty 1.
They've magically appeared in your inventory.

You'll see a STK-UKN transaction in PartTran for Part A, and UKN-STK
transactions for B and C. Inventory costs will depend on whether you
cost AVG, STD or LAST.

have fun,
john

You can now do this in Vantage 8.00 using 'Job Parts' functionality. I
think you need an Advanced Production License though
