I am intersted in seeing what you mean... the checkbox should only check if you click on the control... the control is generally a pretty small footprint.... Can you go into customization mode and shrink that "checkbox" so that there is no extra space?

I don't know why users are clicking when the cursor is not where it is supposed to be, but I have to ask.....
