Does anyone print checks from blank check stock and add the routing number during printing or does everyone use pre-printed check stock? If you do print your own, any tips on adding the data to Crystal?

Thanks,
Tim
We do print our own checks. We bought a special MICR font cartitridge for the printer. This stays in one printer and the office is locked up at night. I know there was a template from our bank that we used to check the layout against. You may want to contact your bank for this information and help.

We do that, just add your account / routing number to your "Account"
module. And then modify the Check Crystal Report to include this info.
Epicor comes with a MICR font which you can use on Crystal. Some banks
require magnetic ink, but some use optical scanners so its up to your bank.
If they require magnetic ink, you can buy it for most printers. We have a
dedicated check printer which only certain users have access to.

OK, got things working using the free MICR font Jose posted awhile ago from this website. Very simple to setup actually.

One last question. Is there a way to force the check number starting point? I want to be sure we start with a number past our last check number used in our old system.

Thanks,
Tim

Tim,

Besides editing Crystal, you will also need a watermark on the checks. I
can't remember if this is hardware or software. The Crystal part should not
be hard.

Does anyone print checks from blank check stock and add the routing number
during printing or does everyone use pre-printed check stock? If you do
print your own, any tips on adding the data to Crystal?

Thanks,
Tim

Water mark?
We just use "Check Sheets" which come with the water makers and heat
sensitive lock and what not.
