504B is the latest, and most stable release to be on. There were a lot of accounting related bugs since the release in December that have been addressed such as Journal Entry paste insert journal lines did not edit for wrong/missing GL Accounts, default GL Accounts not working for RMA and DMR Processing, GL Displays on reports dissappearing and having to be reapplied, multi-company GL accounts, etc.
Â
A lot of these have been addressed and overall you should be okay with 504B, although if you are just starting your journey to E9 then most likely you will be looking at 505 service pack or above, which is slated to be released around October
Â
If you use Serial Numbers/Lot numbers for Parts, there is still no relationship between serial and lot number so far which can lead to processing issues. If you use either serialization and/or lot number indepently you will be OK
Â
Learning the new GL Control Types and Control Codes is the biggest adjustment for financial people migrating from 8.03.4xx as well as learning about natural accounts, dynamic segements, and posting controls. You really need to get them up to speed early in the migration so they have time to absorb the financial changes
Â
Other features such as FIFO for costing, customer owned and supplier owned inventory, new Unit of Measure classes, improved BAQ development, ship to on the fly are other new improvements which may have some bearing on justifying the migration

All,
We have been live on 8.03.40X for only 3 months, and I've been tasked with compiling a list of pitfalls to avoid as we install and start processing with Epicor 9. (ok, sure, I'll just do that...) No where to look but to you- those who know so much more about this system than I.
For those who have already installed, or are in the process of installing E9, is there a stable version? What have you seen so far?
Thanks in advance, once again, for all your help!
