How does Epicor manage or track logged in users against max licensed users?
Is the information that I see in the Epicor Administration Console stored in a table? If yes, which table?
I ask because I would like to do some analytics, over time, to determine license usage.
We are looking to make changes in the near future that will increase the utilization of Epicor, which will mean increase number of users logging in, and it looks like our current license utilization is low so we might be ok…but I’d like to have some more concrete evidence.

LicUser is the table. Still can’t figure out how they are calculating available in Admin console. But it will get you an idea of what’s going on.
At a minimum you want suspended = 0 and licnum > 0

In Crystal Reports, if I compare LastTime + Timeout to Timer, I get the same results as the Admin Console.

I tried doing that manually and I didn’t find that to be the case.
I took last used plus timeout time and it was less than current time however licnum was > 0 and suspend was = 0.
Example was something like
Last time x timeout < curr time = false
(53678 + 900) < 63394 but licnum > 0 and suspend ==0. I couldn’t figure out that last bit.

I am doing this with a direct SQL query I still can’t get it to come out.
Here is a screenshot of my query, results, and admin console. I’m not seeing it.
Using just my basic filters I am getting 16 supposedly active records
http://jcg.pictures/gd8wjeEjaIhjjj.png
If I run a comparison of the last time + timeout against current seconds since midnight it shows I should have 5 more dropping off of 16 brining me to 11 active licenses
However, admin console still reports 14 in use.
Something I’m missing there.

Hi Joshua,
Just to follow up, I believe I have this correct.
In Crystal Reports, if I compare LastTime + Timeout to Timer, I get the same results as the Admin Console.

Thanks Joshua.
My guess is that it is taking the last time field, adding in the time out value, and the comparing it to current time to determine if it is in use or available.

LicUser is the table. Still can't figure out how they are calculating available in Admin console. But it will get you an idea of what's going on.
At a minimum you want suspended = 0 and licnum > 0

Subject: [Vantage] E9: Question on tracking users logged in
Hello,
How does Epicor manage or track logged in users against max licensed users?
Is the information that I see in the Epicor Administration Console stored in a table? If yes, which table?
I ask because I would like to do some analytics, over time, to determine license usage.
We are looking to make changes in the near future that will increase the utilization of Epicor, which will mean increase number of users logging in, and it looks like our current license utilization is low so we might be ok...but I'd like to have some more
concrete evidence.

Are LastTime and TimeOut in minutes or seconds? I'm not sure I understand what's going on with multiplying both hours and minutes by 60.
Thanks,
